Collaborative coaching engagements for small to mid-sized teams.

Also known as Multi-party Coaching or 3-Way Coaching, Internal Organizational Coaching is a development partnership between an employee, their manager, and Emerging Trails. We use 1:1 coaching sessions to support the employee’s growth, and align goals to role expectations and organizational priorities. Employees lead their growth, managers reinforce progress, and the organization sustains momentum beyond the engagement.
Internal Organizational Coaching FAQs
How does multi-party/organizational coaching work?
Explore our Organizational Coaching Overview, which outlines the structure, process, and benefits at a glance.
Who is a good fit for Organizational Coaching?
Employees who are moving into greater responsibility, working through a transition, or building leadership and interpersonal capabilities tend to get the most out of this model. It supports emerging, mid-career, and seasoned leaders who want confidential coaching while staying aligned to real workplace expectations.
When is this a good fit for managers or HR teams?
This is ideal when leaders or HR teams are committed to developing talent and want a coaching partner to help drive progress. It’s especially helpful if you’re supporting growth at scale, short on bandwidth, or looking for added expertise to strengthen leadership readiness and performance.
How is this different from standard 1:1 coaching?
Traditional coaching is a two-party partnership between coach and client. Internal Organizational Coaching adds the manager and organization as active partners in goal alignment and progress support. The employee remains the primary client, but development is strategically connected to role expectations and organizational outcomes.
What does success look like?
Success is measured in two ways:
- The employee’s growth toward their goals,
- The organization’s outcomes (like improved performance, readiness for next-level leadership, or stronger collaboration).
The final summary and sustainability plan ensure progress continues after the engagement ends.
